Vox Studios

Studio Director Veronica Um was Rolfe Judd Architects’ Associate in charge for the design and delivery of this significant workspace project. Flexible business space for new and growing companies was created on the site of a former Marmite factory. The development of Vox Studios involved the complete refurbishment of two buildings and the design and construction of two new structures to provide a business centre with a minimalist, modern aesthetic. The scheme includes amenity spaces for the tenants, such a new spacious entrance, café, meeting suites and coworking facilities, together with new landscaping to encourage a creative, collaborative atmosphere.
A cohesive language has been used for the whole site, building on its industrial character and heritage. New elements are boldly inserted to counterpoint the best of the old; materials such as metal and glass are interspersed with timber and steel, blue glazed bricks reference the pottery workshops that once stood nearby.
