Old Admiralty Building

Our Studio Director Il’ic Testoni led BDP’s refurbishment and creative adaptation of the 1890’s Grade II listed building facing Horse Guards Parade, providing flexible, adaptable working environment to accommodate a Government Department’s staff, collaborators and visitors. The project delivered 24,000m2 of high quality workspace in a modern, collaborative environment to support productivity and innovation. Careful structural alterations improved orientation and wayfinding, introducing solutions to provide an optimum level of visual and physical connectivity to support active collaboration. The building services were upgraded throughout to introduce new mechanical ventilation and environmental control.
OAB provides the new home for the Government Art Collection, including bespoke storage solutions, display areas and workshops to support the collection’s purpose to promote British Art and its programme of public engagement and outreach.
