The project comprises a ground floor and loft extension, providing new and improved domestic spaces for a family of four, with expansive views over the generous garden at the back. The reconfigured ground floor required a complete rethinking of the spatial and functional relationship between kitchen, dining and family areas whilst retaining and refurbishing adjacent spaces dedicated to lounge and utility. Long rooflights ensure generous illumination of the kitchen, which was repositioned at the centre of the floorplate, and sliding glazed doors blur the boundary with the garden patio. At the top of the house the new hip to gable loft extension provides new accommodation in the form of two bedrooms and a large bathroom with a full height feature window integrated with the walk-in shower.
